Why is my laptop freezing up? ?

My laptop is 2 years old, and it keeps on freezing these past weeks. When it freezes i just restart my laptop by pulling all the wires even the battery and it’s okay but still freezes. I been googling, got some idea, they said it might because overheating.(My laptop have been overheated many time so I think that’s the problem but now I got a fan.) My laptop had virus before but it got fixed. I also tried CRTL+ALT+DLT but don’t work, tried command prompt by entering sfc\scannow, it make my laptop last longer but I dont think it help much after I am finished it gives me "Window resource protection found corrupt files but was unable to fix some of them" My laptop freezes when I dont touch move it for around 10+ minutes. I tried backing up my laptop, didn’t work. Is there a way I can make my laptop stop freezing?

Most likely your registry is bloated and overstuffed with an assortment of useless pieces of data.

The thing with computers is you have to keep them updated. Have you tried windows update? SP3 and got the latest Adobe flash player? and the latest windows media player?

Post the brand, model number, installed operating system when asking a question please.
Back up any important files then do a system recovery using the built in recovery partition or a set of recovery disc made for the laptop to put it back to factory with a new original operating system to correct the corrupt system files caused by the virus. Even after removing a virus it has damaged system files that need to be repaired.

Your laptop sounds messed up. I recently had a laptop with a similar history and the same problems. I ended up deleting everything but the things required to run the laptop. A laptop freezing and running out of battery quick is usually a memory problem. Unless you are a computer genius I suggest getting someone to fix it for you. It won’t be cheap, but its cheaper than replacing it.
