Hi
There were issues with the original Fizzbook - the 8.9inch model. The hard drive wasn't very reliable and I've heard of instances where it only lasted a few weeks - some people were more fortunate and it lasted longer.
Of course it may not be the same issue but the symptoms sound familiar.

Although you are beyond the original 12 months warranty period it shouldn't make any difference because under the sale of goods act a product must be of reasonable quality and a laptop hard drive should certainly last for at least 2 years.

In the first instance I would suggest you contact the retailer concerned and ask for a refund or free repair. If they refuse then let us know about it.

Fizzbook will not boot. I just get this:
Reboot and select proper Boot device or insert boot media in selected boot device and press a key:
It was bought in May 2010. I have no idea if it is one of the original models.
Details: ZOOSTORM FIZZBOOK 8.9IN XP LAPTOP NOTEBOOK WIFI MODEL NUMBER: E09E16
Please advise on how to solve this issue.
