Manufactured by Elonex, the new M & S MSNB-2009 WebBook is a 10 inch netbook computer with Windows XP and a host of features which make it a serious contender in the competitive netbook computer market.
M & S are a recent entrant to the world of technology retailing and they have not wasted any time making their mark. By offering some great deals on laptops and netbooks this Christmas, M & S have certainly hit the radar of many technology shoppers by offering competitive prices on some of the most popular machines as well as emulating their nearest competitor, John Lewis, by offering a free 2 year guarantee on all netbooks and laptops.
Now, as if this isn’t enough, the retailer is to start selling their own branded netbook computer.
The machine, to be called the MSNB-2009 or Marks & Spenser Web- Book is to be produced by Elonex and will follow the standard netbook format with a 10” display screen as well as using Intel’s, now ubiquitous, Atom Processor.
Available in black, blue or pink, the MSNB-2009 has a sophisticated look, a seamless touchpad and bright back-lit 10″ LED display.
One of the major selling points is that no hazardous materials are used in the computer’s production which, the company are hoping, will appeal to those with an eye on environmental concerns.
Unlike Elonex machines of the past, this netbook is clearly aimed against the major manufacturers and features much of what has now become a standard spec. The M & S netbook will run on Windows XP, has a 160GB hard drive and 1MB of RAM memory. A host of connections are included as well a web-cam, Wi-Fi access, a memory card reader and much more.
