It’s safe to say that the previous design of the Sony E Series Laptop was a real winner – the deep pink colour and arabic pattern texture really set Sony’s mid range laptop range apart from the rest. So now the E Series has been updated and the colour is a softer pink and the textured casing is now a more softer, ribbled design. Will this version be as popular – we think so?
Available direct from Sony with a range of options starting at £539, the new Vaio E Series has an Intel Core i3 Processor, 4GB of RAM, a 320GB Hard Drive and upto 4 hours battery life. You get all the usual range of connections, a DVD drive as well as a dedictaed NVIDIA GeForce graphics card.
The 15½ inch LCD screen is sharp and clear with 16:9 aspect ratio, high contrast and scratch resistance. You also get a built in ‘Motion Eye’ webcam as standard. Enjoy all your favourite films with the built-in DVD optical drive – or upgrade to include a Blu-ray Disc player (£100 extra).
The soft pink (officially Glossy Pink) case has a soft textured design which not only looks good but makes the laptop comfortable to grip and carry around.
Open the lid and catch all those jealous glances. Of course, like all Vaios, the E Series isn’t all looks and no substance – it can easily hold its own against most high-performance business laptops. So whether you’re buying this laptop for work, for college or as a home computer it can easily manage any application with aplomb.
The keyboard is nicely spaced-out and is available as an English QWERTY version as standard with a free option to select layouts & languages for other European countries.
The built-in multi-touch track pad is well positioned and there is also a selection of one-touch buttons for fast access to your most commonly used features.
