Dell xps m1530 Laptop error message?

Hi, my friend has the above laptop, switching in on one day she received an error message on a black screen… ‘time of day clock stopped’, this comes up after switching it on after the 1st Dell load up screen. Any ideas? No one I know, even the techy guys I know have any clue and have never heard of this.Heeeeelp!!

    The answer is that the reserve battery that supports the system configuration settings may require recharging. Connect your computer to an electrical outlet to charge the battery. If the problem persists, contact Dell (see Contacting Dell).

    If charging and resetting does not cure it you may need a new bios battery.

    How to do so should be in the laptops manual.

    Sounds like the CMOS battery needs changing

    make sure it’s all unplugged from the wall first

    try taking the CMOS battery out and leaving it for 30 seconds

    then press the power button after the 30 seconds
    to drain all power then put battery back in and reboot

    If the problem remains then you need to change your CMOS battery
