Black screen on Sony vaio!!?

So I got a pop up message saying my laptop needed to restart in 15 minutes and 15 minutes later it shut down and restarted, it said something on the screen like rebooting or repairing you laptop so I left it, it said on the screen it would take 1 hour so I waited and later I accidentally pressed the power button turning it off so I turned it back on and I got a black screen and it stayed on the black screen for like half an hour, I’ve restarted it a couple of times by pressing the power button but nothing different happens with my laptop, I keep getting this annoying black screen. I need this laptop for college so please do help, thanks. I have a Sony Vaio fit 15 with windows 8 and its brand new please help.

  1. First thing is to run diagnostic on it. When you press the power button start tapping the F10 key. If an Edit Boot Options screen appears, press the Enter key. If a Windows Boot Manager screen appears, select VAIO Recovery Environment and then press the Enter key. In the VAIO Recovery Center window, under Choose a program, click VAIO Hardware Diagnostics, computer problems related to hardware can be diagnosed using this option, test everything. If the hard drive fails or it says you do not have a hard drive, then you’re going to have to get a new one and order the recovery DVD from Sony. If everything passes, it sounds like the OS is corrupted. If you have a system repair CD or a Windows install DVD, boot from the DVD/CD and run repair from it. You will have to access the boot device options in the BIOS to make it boot from the DVD/CD. If you do not have a system repair CD you can make one from a puter that has the same OS as yours. If that does not fix it then your probably going to have to reload your OS to get back up and running.

You will need to recover your data and files before doing that.

When you press the power button and start tapping the F10 key. If an Edit Boot Options screen appears, press the Enter key. If a Windows Boot Manager screen appears, select VAIO Recovery Environment and then press the Enter key. In the VAIO Recovery Center window, under Choose a program, click Rescue Data, this option can be used to detect and save data to an external hard drive or removable media prior to a system recovery.

Once you have recovered what you need you can reload your OS.

When you press the power button start tapping the F10 key. If an Edit Boot Options screen appears, press the Enter key. If a Windows Boot Manager screen appears, select VAIO Recovery Environment and then press the Enter key. In the VAIO Recovery Center window, under Choose a program, click Restore C Drive, this option is used to reset the entire C drive partition back to its original factory software configuration. Data on other partitions is not affected.
