The new Disney branded netbook from Asus is a durable, fully featured netbook which has been developed especially for children aged between 6 and 12, with a host of fun features and parental controls to make computer use entertaining, educational and, above all, safe.
Based on the award winning Asus Eee PC Netbook, the Pink MK90H-PIN018X Disney netbook features a suite of child-friendly software and uses the Windows XP operating system. Another useful feature of the Disney Netbook is a reinforced mechanical hard drive, which makes this netbook ideal for young children who can be a little clumsy.
The desktop display screen can be customised with fun Disney themes including Disney Princess, Vintage Mickey Mouse, and Hannah Montana. Much of the in-built software is also Disney branded and includes applications to store, edit and manage various media files including photo’s, music and video and also includes some fun games, digital radio and a photo-scrapbook.
Robust
While few computers are indestructible, Asus have taken care to ensure that this netbook can not be easily damaged. The Disney Netpal incorporates a reinforced mechanical design that can withstand much of the everyday abuse a child can throw at it and even has a spill-resistant keyboard. The hard drive is also protected by a ShockShield data protection system which protects data from being lost when the computer is knocked or dropped. The battery is also built-in to prevent inadvertent removal or damage.
Parental Controls
Parents can set up accounts with varying permissions depending upon the user and the times of day when the computer can be accessed. The Email application can also be set so only approved contacts can get through and a list of safe websites can also be specified.
Performance
The Disney Netbook will up to 5 hours between charges and has more than sufficient memory to access and run popular children’s games and websites such as CBeebies and view videos via YouTube – as well as an ample 160GB hard drive storage capacity so they can store all of their favourite pictures, music and videos.
